Bible Discussion Group for Monday 16th May 6.30 pm Led by Sheena Gabriel Manna (‘Bread’) from Heaven - Exodus chapter 16 This session is prompted by a recent UCA service where Francis Elliot Wright offered the story of the Israelites being fed with ‘manna’ in the wilderness - for 40 years - after fleeing Egypt. Leaving aside the intriguing notion of what ‘manna’ might be, and the historicity (or otherwise) of this passage, we will ponder together the following questions: What can it teach us about providence, and trust that our needs will be provided? This Monday's discussion will be led by Kevin Mason. He writes: Staying Alive. John 6:51-63.      At a recent Bible discussion group, the question was raised as to how we keep our faith alive.  There are parallels between the physical and the spiritual life, for both we need to do a couple of fundamental things: we need to eat and drink for instance.  Jesus talks about this in John’s gospel chapter 6.  There was much misunderstanding between those who were listening to him.  What did Jesus mean when he said we must eat his flesh and drink his blood?  The right answer to that question gives us an important means by which we can keep our faith alive.       Beware though, lest we become spiritual couch potatoes.  We are warned of this in James 1:22.  So how do we do that; be doers of the word?  In other words, how do we exercise our faith?  Join Zoom Meeting Monday 9th May at 6.30pm-7.30pm https://us06web.zoom.us/j/82378042367?pwd=REgrU1Y5MlI4dWFPMk1RVkYvOEpWQT09 Meeting ID: 823 7804
