Jesus behaving badly? We are all familiar with 'gentle Jesus, meek and mild', with the healings he performed, the compassion he showed, the brilliant stories he told, but what about those occasions on which Jesus appears to be acting in a less than exemplary fashion? In our discussion on Saturday 4th July, we'll be considering some of these, concentrating on his treatment of the Syrophoenician woman as recorded in Mark 7:24-30. Was Jesus being racist? Here are some other passages we might look at if we have time: Mark 3:31-35 (Jesus' treatment of his mother); Mark 11:12-14 (Jesus curses the fig tree); Mark 11:15-17 (Jesus cleanses the Temple).
