Discussion for 9th November

Tonight's discussion concentrates on Mark 8 : 27- 30. " Who do you say I am ? It is also found in both Matthew and Luke and surely forms the basis for all that was to follow in terms of Christian thinking about the man Jesus.

Why did Jesus feel the need to ask, why not tell? Why did he seem to insist on an almost blanket of secrecy about the answer given?

And as 21st century Unitarians, trying to cement or grow our presence on the religious/spiritual landscape, what place for the man Jesus? Who do we say he is or was?
